In Honor of Generosity... It's RAK Time!!!

In honor of the generosity of my favorite girlies, the Poppy's, I am giving away some fun trinkets from my stash of goodness! I should warn you in advance that I have never done this before so I truly hope I have put together a super packet of goodies for you! A few days ago I thanked Happy Girl Stacey, she was giving away some fun journaling goodies and I am thrilled to say I won! Well then a few days later my friend Kimber-Leigh was feeling in the giving spirit also and was having a little RAK party at her homefront New Every Morning. As I left a comment for her I thought there was no chance I could possibly win two RAK'S in a row, and I did!!!! Thanks ladies for the contagious, wonderful Spirit of Giving you have inspired here.

Ok, I took this picture a few days ago and after I had disassembled my display, I decided that if I add a few more things I could have enough for two RAK's-so back into my stash I went. Some items are not pictured, but trust me you will not be disappointed, among the goodies are some of my favorites... lace remnants, white sharpie, alphabet rub-on's, red velvet flower's, and fun journaling bits from various notepads. I almost want to sign up myself--teehee! Ok, so here's how to participate...

Last night we hosted a Christmas Party for our Small Group. We did the whole White Elephant gift exchange, it was pretty fun actually. (Luckily, no one brought any Depend's, like they did at Mom & Dad's gift exch.) Kp and I were able to steal some great gifts, and I am proud to say that the gifts we brought were each stolen and retired quickly! Ok, so the question is what, if any is the best or worst white elephant gift you have received/been stuck with? If you have never done White Elephant, just leave me some kind of happy comment and you will be entered to win a fab pack of goodness! Two RAK's=Two separate winners! Bella and I will draw and post the winner's on Monday afternoon, I figure we could all use a Monday pick-me-up. Have fun and good luck!

Well, I've never come home with any great trinkets, but I did give a Mr Potato Head at an office White Elephant Christmas party and it was a HUGE hit! I think it passed through more than a dozen hands before it finally ended up going home. I never imagined a tater head would have created such a stir! It demolished the chia pet in popularity! :)

I ended up with a really tacky hand sequined fabric wall calendar the last time I participated in one. At the office one last year someone gave a huge bundle of wood! Too funny!

No white elephants here. But last year in my work Secret Santa, I got an easy bake oven! I have wanted on of those since 1974. My mother would never buy me one. Said with her help I could use the real oven.

Thanks for updating Jillian. {wink wink}

Can you believe I have never participated in a White Elephant party before?

(We don't get out much...)

:) :)

Well, I came to check out your blog for a little pick me up (it's been a stressful night) and came across you giving away a crap load of stuff! I have horrible luck, but I'll give it a shot. I too, don't get out much and can't even remember the last Xmas party I've been to, and have never been a part of a W.E. exchange(and by the sounds of it, probably a good thing) Hugs,
Susannah

I "won" an Elvis Mousepad, it was even cut out around his hair. It was odd and truely disappointing.

Congrats on your double wins!!!

we play this game every year with my extended family. by brother is big on stealing things ... but i usually just take what i get. which is why a few years ago i got stuck with a couple of ball point pens! seriously ... i'm not sure what was so special about these pens that could justify being worth a supposed $20! lol!

we play dirty santa every year at my g'ma's and she collects "freebies" all year for the gifts. you know, the promotional stuff that insurance, parmaceutical reps, & politicians give away...mini manicure kits, window scrapers, keychains, and we all fight over it every year!!!

stacey (who will hit submit only once no matter what!)

Last week we had our work chrissy party and we all had to bring gifts as I am a bit unconventional...well not the give a mug gift kindaa gal......I usually stand alone I decided it would be way to much fun to get a diamonte G-string for the director of nursing anounymous of course (silly I'm not) But can you believe somebody put into my handbag some "wipe on sex appeal" I didnt see this until I got home.......I was mortified as if I need wipe on sex appeal.... I ooze the stuff!! Nobody will own up in fear of retribution. Hell have no fury on earth than nicky with wipe on sex appeal

I would say the worst was a set of screwdrivers. And I actually ended up stealing them for my husband because someone stole them from him and he really wanted them. So I guess the worst thing I ended up with was nothing! Haha.

I'm actually going to be doing my first White Elephant exchange right after Christmas with my scrap group, so it should be fun! I have done Secret Santa, though. The worst thing was these chalky, stinky bath cubes. The best thing was a gorgeous Christmas platter.

Umm..crochet toilet roll holder with a plastic doll head. Funny - no one stole it from me either. :)

Congrats on your wins. Have a lovely holiday season = your blog is very fun to read. Thanks for sharing!

So fun Jillian!!! Well, the last white elephant I did was in high school...and I ended up with a box full of beauty products! Some good stuff and some junk!

Looks like a great RAK...I have been in search of a white sharpie FOREVER!!!! Where do you find yours???

I have only been in one dirty santa and I got a really pretty ornament. I just wanted to mention what my daughter got last night at her student council.....it is one of the UGLIEST UGLIST candle holders I have ever seen. I swear it has to be the creature off the Preditor!!! NO JOKE, ha, thinking about it, I need to post that ugly thing on my blog! lol

I came home with a minature metal knight that I had to display in my backyard for a whole year!

Last year I got stuck with some metal puzzle thingy....it's in the back of the closet somewhere!!

It is so sweet of you to give away 2 RAK's! I think the winners should continue the chain, and so on and so on, then eventually everyone will win a RAK!

Sorry I dont have any white elephant storys. But I can tell you about my worst present:My husbands mom gave me a resin calico kitty figurine the first year we dated. It was so ugly, I think I finaly got a dime out of it, from a garage sale.

Happy Holidays!

I just participated in one this morning with my weight loss group and I'm the youngest one that attends so I ended up with some Christmas oven mitts! But it was a fun morning anyway! That looks like a lot of fun stuff! Very cool idea! Anne

i have never done a white elephant before, just dirty santa (are they the same?) I have always gotten something that I liked (so far) and it's usually soemthing snowmanish.

The absolute funniest 'bad gift' I have ever witnessed was at a family "mean santa" gift exchange where my dad ended up with a 6 foot brown extension cord. He still complains about it to this day. Ha Ha. :)

Hey Jillian...I have participated in a few white elephants, but never have gotten anything really bad. The most recent one from a few days ago was a small book light. Not the worst, but I don't ever read at night - I'll fall asleep immediately!! So I guess I'll be saving that for the next white elephant - HA! Happy Holidays...Gina
